Tanner for his project put on a Health Heart Awareness Fair. He had many agencies get involved for the event, but Mountain View Fire and Rescue (MVFR) was the primary one, as that is the Agency that came on call last July, when Tanner had his Heart Arrest. So grateful that 6 months later we were all at this event..to celebrate and educate.
What an amazing thing, to be doing your Eagle Scout Project just 6 months after all that has happened...and on top of it, raise awareness and importance of CPR training by having a Heart Fair. MVFR brought their Rig and Ambulance, PR person(Thanks Laura you are amazing!) and the exact same crew that responded to my sons call. Tanner got to shake hands and give thanks for all they did. MVFR also has sponsored 15 CPR Classes for free, every year in honor of Tanner's life that was saved. The local Life Flight Agency also showed up for an hour(before leaving for another call), which was great! Longmont United, Children's Hospital, SADS Organization, Weld County Sheriff's Department and Frederick Fire and Rescue also attended. One of the nurses from Longmont United was there, that helped on Tanners call. Both Physicians from Children's Hospital also attended that are Tanners Doctors currently. So amazing all the time and effort on everyone's behalf to make this a great event. The scouts and parents were greatly appreciated in helping set up, and break down the event. So blessed to meet and thank, praise, celebrate with so many amazing people!
For all those that read this post, if you don't know CPR, get trained. If you have taken a class in the past, take another as it changes about every 2 years. They are constantly updating their information, processes to perform CPR. Think about it this way...if you every went down...wouldn't you want someone - family member, friend, co-worker, bi-standard to know CPR?
"When the time to act in upon you..the time for preparation is over..."
MVFR, hanging out for a minute, waiting for the fair to start up.
Mo didn't want to leave the engineer's seat. He was happy to sit there and turn the steering wheel. Tanner kept a hand on him as its a long way down to the concrete for a little guy like him.
Even the little kids had fun things to learn and do....
The bird had just landed and the crew and gotten out so we were pretty far back. It kicks up a good amount of wind for sure.
