Tanner's Eagle Scout Project

This happened in February and I am now finally posting it. Shame on me as it was in concert with Heart Health Awareness month (February..Valentines...you get the picture).

Tanner for his project put on a Health Heart Awareness Fair. He had many agencies get involved for the event, but Mountain View Fire and Rescue (MVFR) was the primary one,  as that is the Agency that came on call last July, when Tanner had his Heart Arrest. So grateful that 6 months later we were all at this event..to celebrate and educate.

What an amazing thing, to be doing your Eagle Scout Project just 6 months after all that has happened...and on top of it, raise awareness and importance of CPR training by having a Heart Fair. MVFR brought their Rig and Ambulance, PR person(Thanks Laura you are amazing!) and the exact same crew that responded to my sons call. Tanner got to shake hands and give thanks for all they did. MVFR also has sponsored 15 CPR Classes for free, every year in honor of Tanner's life that was saved. The local Life Flight Agency also showed up for an hour(before leaving for another call), which was great! Longmont United, Children's Hospital, SADS Organization, Weld County Sheriff's Department and Frederick Fire and Rescue also attended. One of the nurses from Longmont United was there, that helped on Tanners call. Both Physicians from Children's Hospital also attended that are Tanners Doctors currently. So amazing all the time and effort on everyone's behalf to make this a great event. The scouts and parents were greatly appreciated in helping set up, and break down the event. So blessed to meet and thank, praise, celebrate with so many amazing people!

For all those that read this post, if you don't know CPR, get trained. If you have taken a class in the past, take another as it changes about every 2 years. They are constantly updating their information, processes to perform CPR. Think about it this way...if you every went down...wouldn't you want someone - family member, friend, co-worker, bi-standard to know CPR?

"When the time to act in upon you..the time for preparation is over..."

MVFR, hanging out for a minute, waiting for the fair to start up.

Mo didn't want to leave the engineer's seat. He was happy to sit there and turn the steering wheel. Tanner kept a hand on him as its a long way down to the concrete for a little guy like him.

Even the little kids had fun things to learn and do....

The bird had just landed and the crew and gotten out so we were pretty far back. It kicks up a good amount of wind for sure.

Cotillion and LDS Prom

Here's are some shots from the LDS Cotillion and Prom. The Cotillion lasted about 6 weeks and then they had a formal at the end. The LDS prom was a Multi-stake event held at the Tapestry House in Fort Collins this past weekend. Tanner, Sierra and Savannah had a great time at Cotillion, they did a great job transforming the Stake Center Gym into a beautiful setting...so amazed at all the helping hands to make it all possible. Same goes for the Prom, they had dancing, a photo fun booth, Jazz band, candy bar and more. Mom and I chaperoned the Prom so we got into the photo action as well. Tanner and the rest of his Civil Air Patrol friends came for the Cotillion so they dressed up in their uniforms. At the Prom we had a "few" Celeb's there...yea, me and Rob...we're Bros.....

Prom picks(sorry I need to get a few more from Tanner and his friend Josh

We Moved!

Well it was the longest month of our life it seemed..March. Glad its over with, we had much illness in that old farmhouse the last few months upon leaving.(I'll spare you the details, but it was awful). Enough of the negative, we are so blessed to be at our new place. Its in a older, more established neighborhood and has just the right amount of land to keep us busy, but more importantly zoned correctly so we could have the Milam zoo. Here's some shots prior to moving in and a few afterwards. Were still digging out of boxes so no photos of the inside yet :). Thanks to all that made this possible, it was really a 2 year journey of searching since we moved here and we finally found something we can call home.

Took this picture and text'd it to my wife on a friday....it was soooo close....
we closed the day before we moved.

Here's the back 1(acre)...You can see Mo off to the left bending down to look at something.

Our barn that came with the property!!!!!!! So blessed to have it for our Goats and Horse. Grape did have her baby...we named her Ginger.(photos to come on that)

For now, this is our designated play room. At some point we'd love to make this into a real part of the house.

Yes, this is prior to moving in...seriously not the way it looks at the moment...

I love apples..MO under the Crab Apple tree that just bloomed..

Nan's taking care of Chip, our overweight, middle aged miniature horse...don't be fooled, if he's excited the boy can run!!!!!

A few shots from the local park that we are near....

The little dude seriously loves playing with any kinda ball, even a chewed up flat volleyball
