Grand Mothers Funeral

My Grandmother past away recently. See lived an amazing life and lived into her 90's. I was fortunate enough to go back to California for the funeral and Honor her life. Its been a long time since I've been back there, to Oakdale and Knights Ferry. Much has change over the last 2 decades, but some things haven't(and probably never will..which is ok with me). Here are some pics of the Funeral, the old town Knights Ferry where my sister and I spent many summers. I also got to visit with other relatives that I haven't seen for quite some time, which was such a blessing. I love you all so much, so grateful I got to visit with even though it was for a short moment.

Ballones were released into the air after my Mom had given the Eulogy

The Tombstone was done in a day...doesn't usually happen but they did a wonderful job. Someone had commented that it took 6 months to get theirs completed for a relative.

My Great Aunt and Uncle, My Aunt and her Daughter(my cousin Michelle with her Daughter Fionna), My Sister Jen and her Daughter Lillian. So amazing to see them all, after many years of being apart.

This was the General Store that my sister and I used to go to as kids.
So many wonderful memories of this place.

This bridge was built in the early 1800's. No one is allowed to drive over it anymore as its not so stable. My dad in his youth used to jump off this thing into the Stanislaus River below.

The next series of shots is of the old mill that is next to the river. They don't allow you to go around on the inside, hence the bars over the lower windows etc...

Below are some shots of my Grandmothers house in Riverbank. Great rustic barn out back so I had to take some photos. Can't wait until I can get a real camera!

Happy Birthday Sierra!

It was a fun filled day yesterday for Sierra's Bday Party. We went Ice Skating in the afternoon in a open pavilion in Longmont. A little windy out there, but the above average temp of 50 degree's made it not so bad. Everyone had a great time skating, even Thalia now is going at it with a cool little device that helps keep her balance on the ice.

After skating we came back home and cooked up a proper Italian meal for everyone(per Sierra's Bday dinner request). I can still taste the garlic this am, which is not soo much fun but it sure was good going down.

OK, we couldn't find the candles so she had to settle for one...one little candle the girls made in a class!
She can be one again, I'm fine with that...

Mo is watching the Zamboni going by...totally memorized by it

Climbing with Savannah and Sophia

I'm using a new lens and film for my Hipstamatic App. Its supposed to be for food photography, but I liked the blurred edges(kinda like tilt-shift lens) so I couldn't resist spending 99 cents on it. I used today to capture Savannah and Sophia's time at the BRC Climbing Gym with me.

They both had a great time, I'm not sure if they enjoyed the slide or actually climbing more. The slide is used for those that climb up the boulder wall and reach the top, and "Top out". Then they can just take the slide down to the bottom instead of walking all the way around, down the stairs and back to the bouldering area.
